Something not working, or a question this page does not answer? Email colmbremer@gmail.com and a person will get back to you, usually the same day.

Locked out mid-shift? Put that in the subject line and it goes to the top of the pile. Clock in on paper in the meantime — your manager can put the hours right afterwards, and the timesheet will be right.

Common questions

My manager gave me a code. Where does it go?

Create your account first with your email and a password, and the app will ask for the eight-character code on the next screen. The code works once and expires after two weeks — if yours has lapsed, your manager can make a new one from Me → Invite a teammate.

The clock says I'm too far away, but I'm standing in the kitchen.

Clock in anyway. By default the punch is taken and recorded as not confirmed at the restaurant, for your manager to approve — the hours are yours either way. The Clock screen tells you which of those is going to happen before you tap.

It still needs fixing rather than working around: the restaurant's pin may be on the wrong spot, or the radius may be too tight for a building with thick walls — GPS indoors is routinely off by 30 or 40 metres. Tell your manager, who can move the pin and widen the radius from Me → Work address.

If your restaurant has turned on “Only allow clock-ins at the restaurant”, the button stays disabled until you are inside the radius and the screen says so. That is a setting your manager chose, and only your manager can change it. Until they do, clock in on paper and they can put the hours right afterwards.

Do I have to turn location on?

Usually not. If you decline, clocking in still works — the Clock screen says "Location not confirmed", and the punch is recorded as a manual one for your manager to approve rather than as a verified one. Lineup never reads your location outside the Clock screen and never stores your coordinates.

The exception is a restaurant that has turned on “Only allow clock-ins at the restaurant”. There, a clock-in has to be confirmed, so location has to be on — the Clock screen tells you that instead of leaving you guessing why the button is grey.

I picked up a shift and it's still saying "waiting on manager".

Some pickups approve instantly and some need a manager, depending on the rules your restaurant set — usually overtime and the ten-hour rest gap between shifts. The reason is shown underneath the request.

I lost signal in the walk-in and tapped things anyway.

That is fine. Lineup keeps working offline and sends everything up when you have a connection again. The Me tab shows what is still waiting to sync.

I left the job. How do I delete my account?

In the app: Me → Account → Delete my account. Your login is destroyed and your name comes off the roster straight away. Hours you already worked stay with the restaurant, because your employer is required to keep timekeeping records. If you are the last manager who can sign in, you will need to make somebody else a manager first.

Can I use it in Spanish?

Yes — Me → Language. It changes the whole app, per person, so a kitchen can run in Spanish while the front of house runs in English.

Reporting a problem

The most useful thing you can send is what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead — plus your restaurant's name and roughly what time it was. A screenshot beats a description. If it is a wrong number on a timesheet, tell us the date and the shift.
